VA Linux announced today
that Fujitsu and VA Linux became the first Japanese member of the Xen
Project Advisory Board. As for details about the other member,
please refer to Xen.org press release .
Our Contributions and
Activities for the Xen Community
Many senior engineers from leading hardware, software, and security
vendors including Japanese vendors join the Xen.org community and
contribute to the Xen projects.
The Xen hypervisor has been
developed by working with the community members and then become an
incredibly strategic resource for the industry.
The Xen Advisory Board includes membership from the top eight
contributors to the Xen project, as well as the key vendors delivering
the Xen hypervisor.
VA Linux has been working
with the Xen community as an IA64 maintainer and involved in Xen/IA64
MMU virtualization. VA Linux remains one of the world's leading
contributors to the projects.
We participated in “Xen
Summit” every year and invited Mr. Ian Pratt, founder of the xen
project and Chairman of Xen.org as the keynote speaker of our event;
“Xen Conference Japan”.
Our contributions and
activities have been well received and became a member of the Xen.org
Advisory Board.
Backed by our technical
skills, expertise and considerable experience, VA Linux offers
consulting and entrusted development service focused on virtualization
technology called “VA
Virtual-suite” and focused on cloud technology called “Cloud
Quest”.
"Having Fujitsu and VA Linux Software join the Xen Advisory Board is
another milestone for the Xen community, demonstrating the broad reach
of the project," said Ian Pratt, founder of the xen project and
Chairman of Xen.org. "With Fujitsu's and VA Linux Software's industry
leadership and strong presence in the Asian marketplace, the Xen.org
community is further strengthened, ensuring a continued leadership
position as the open source hypervisor of choice."
“VA Linux Japan has been contributing to the Xen community since its
inception, offering high-quality consulting services for the Xen
virtualization technology in Japan. Today’s announcement of joining the
Xen advisory board gives us a confidence that our efforts toward the
Xen open source projects have been widely recognized.” said Iehisa
“Ike” Nakamura, president and CEO, VA Linux Japan. “We are proud to be
a member of the Xen advisory board. VA Linux is committed to support
the adoption of the Xen technology and XCP in Japan and continue to
contribute to Xen.org.”
